It’s been almost 3 months since the fight against COVID-19 started and Singapore has been through a lot.
The world that we knew is never the same. To protect lives, countries around the world has ordered lock-downs in an effort to keep us safe. These drastic measures have resulted in livelihoods being lost, uncertainty, stress and immense economic damage.
Earlier in late February, VendShare launched a CareWithCoffee initiative to provide coffee and hot beverages to our frontline fighters in various hospitals. We worked with partners;
1) Australian Alumni Singapore
2) Park $2 Project
and together with corporate sponsors:
3) Adam Khoo Learning Technologies
and thousands of individuals, we are providing close to 21,000 cups of hot beverages via our coffee vending machines to those working tirelessly to keep us safe.
To date, we have provided coffee to
1) SGH: 9,000 Cups
2) Sengkang General Hospital: 3000 cups
3) KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital: 3000 cups
4) National University Hospital: 6000 cups.
While this campaign to the hospital continues, as we are also going to place in more hospitals in the next few weeks, we intend to solve another pressing problem that is faced by our fellow Singaporeans.
In the next phase of our CareWithCoffee project, we intend to reach out to another group of Singaporeans who also need a way to find jobs and to sustain themselves as the intense measures have created in pay-cuts and wide-spread loss of income.
We wanted to create something simple, simple that some people could do from home. We also wanted to provide services, which could be very much needed in this time of keeping everyone safe at home.
